 Carlton T Mayers,II Esq is the founder, Owner and Head Consultant of Strategic Solutions, LLC,  It empowers community members by consulting with community-based organizations and other community stakeholders on state and local criminal justice reform advocacy efforts such as:  policing reform, prosecutorial reform, court reform, sentencing reform, reentry reform, and gun violence and reduction in urban communities.  Consulting services include:  policy and legislative research and writing; analysis of state and local policies and legislation; and presentations, training, and facilitation of strategy sessions on evidence-based solutions and best practices.

Carlton T. Mayers, II, Esq., is  a native of New York City,  he used to serve as NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Inc.’s Policy Counsel for the Policing Reform Campaign in Washington, D.C. In this role, Carlton lobbied on Capitol Hill and advocated for police reform in Ferguson, Baltimore, North Charleston, and New York City. Prior to this position, Attorney Mayers directed the National Criminal Justice Program for NAACP National Office in Baltimore, MD, and co-authored the NAACP Born Suspect: Racial Profiling Report published in 2014. He received his B.S. in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his J.D. and Master’s in Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School in South Royalton, Vermont. Likewise, he served in AmeriCorps in Maryland as the Program Manager for the Reentry Mediation Program at the Conflict Resolution Center of Montgomery County where he helped incarcerated people re-enter society by resolving conflicts in their important relationships and reunifying families.
